J'ai besoin d'aider ce lecteur de MONITOR.
J'ai deja eu ce probleme de reconaissance de DVD/CD mais je ne sais vraiment 
pas comment le resoudre.

Pouvez vous m'aider repondre a ce probleme.

Thank you for taking the trouble to reply to me direct. I will address
all your questions.

My system is a desktop with a Celeron 3.2 GHz on an Asus P5P800-MMX
motherboard with 1.5 Gby RAM, on-board Intel 865GV video, on-board
Ethernet, main HD 80 Gby SATA, subsidiary HDs 40 Gby IDE plus 40 Gby IDE
on a USB port, LG GSA-4120B CD/DVD reader/burner, Iomega 250 Mby Zip
drive (IDE), 3 1/2" floppy, USB port expander on one of the USB ports,
Canon LiDE20 scanner, Samsung CLP500 color laser, Samsung ML-2010 black
laser, Canon i860 color ink-jet, APC UPS, D-Link 4-port router and GNet
ADSL modem.

My platform is Fedora 7 with all the latest updates installed.
(Incidentally, it is only since I went from FC6 to Fedora 7 that these
two troubles have arisen : all was quite OK with FC6.)

Now, the symptom is : I can install using DVD OK. After this, If I go
and read a DVD I can't, afterwards, read anything except DVDs;
conversely, if I go and read a CD first thing, I can't, afterwards, read
anything except CDs. It always tells me that there is no media in the
drive.

I can never read anything from my Zip drive even though it's listed
within the system. Again, the error message on trying to read (or mount)
a Zip disk is "no media in drive".

I have attached herewith copies of fstab and mtab as you requested.

I look forward to any light which you may be able to throw onto this
problem for me.

I'm afraid I've given up asking OCLUG as the site seems to have
developed into a general discussion/slanging site with little or no
reference to Linux and the last couple of times I've asked anything
technical, I've not gotten any answers.

Thank you once again for attending to my problem and I look forward to
